2013-10-31 08:05:26 -0500 asked a question Installing Receipt Printer Issues

Hi,

I'm trying to install an E-POS (TEP 100C) Thermal Printer onto my Fedora 19 LXDE but am having real issues.

Firstly, the printer connects via Parallel Port (not USB) and CUPS cannot detect it even though I tried using a "USB to Parallel Printer" adaptor.

Secondly, I can' t find the suitable drivers anywhere. I've been told the closest match to this printer is the Epson TM-88V but installing with the PDD file of the TM-88V doesn't seem to work - when I send a print command, there's no response from the printer.

When I try selecting the Epson 9-pin or 24-pin driver from CUPS, printing works, but output is not clear (has empty spaces in each character). Any other Epson driver just outputs garbage.

Would really appreciate some help on this, pls.

Hello,

I've installed Fedora 19 LXDE spin as a guest OS on VirtualBox and all was fine. I then installed Cairo-Dock and Compiz and all seemed well until I restarted the VM. Booting up is fine, but when it completes the boot-splash, the screen just remains blank forever. I can send an ACPI shutdown command or Reset the "machine" but nothing more.

Is it that Compiz cannot work on VM's?

Incase it may help, here's the session information:

2013-09-11 07:20:59 -0500 asked a question Auto login user a/c

Hello,

I have Fedora 19 LXDE which has two user a/c's: one which I setup during the OS installation and the second which I setup later from the command line interface.

Since I only use the second user a/c, I'd like Fedora to auto login to the second user a/c without me having to select it and enter the password every time.

Would really appreciate some help on this, pls.

2013-09-07 04:54:39 -0500 asked a question Fedora 19 LXDE - Make compiz default Window Manager

Hello,

I've installed Cairo-Dock on my Fedora 19 LXDE PC and while all is well, I have the dock sitting on an opaque black rectangle.

I then installed compiz & ccsm, but still everytime I restart the PC, the black opaque rectange is back until I click on "Composite-Manager".

I've even looked around the "CompizConfig Settings Manager" for anything like autostart but to no avail.

How would I be able to get compiz to start automatically with Fedora?

Thanks in anticipation.
