2014-11-09 02:15:09 -0500 asked a question Show changelog of packages in dnf

I replaced yum by dnf few time ago but some I miss from yum is the changelog plugin which permit to see the changes brought by the new version of packages. I looked in the man page of dnf but didn't see such feature.

Does someone know if it's implemented or if it's gonna be ?

2013-11-01 11:40:57 -0500 answered a question when adding a user from CL it does not appear in GUI every time why?

An educated guess is that only users with an id contained within a certain range are considered as real users (read "humans") and so listed at graphical boot.

Compare the uid between the users and find those listed at boot, and create a users in the range of the users listed.

and don't forget tell here if it works.

2013-10-31 06:12:48 -0500 answered a question How to define windows position under GNOME

it used to be an application called (devilspie) that could do windows matching and set behaviour (position, extended/minimized, ...).

The point I'm a bit sceptical about how it handles several screens, and how to trigger actions when a new screen is plugged.

However the application worth the look.

2013-09-03 10:53:04 -0500 commented question Can't authenticate with ssh key

Hi Mairin, I guess you tried to open the file /etc/xdg/autostart/seahorse-daemon.desktop that seahorse complains about (but it seems this is just a warning). Any relevant output if you run journalctl -b ? Did you also tried to kill the seahorse-daemon, and launch it back.

2013-09-03 10:48:03 -0500 edited question Can't authenticate with ssh key

I use GNOME 3, for better or worse. I noticed today I can't ssh into my remote hosts anymore.

When I type ssh-add on the terminal I get:

Could not open a connection to your
authentication agent.

If I type seahorse-daemon I get:

** (seahorse-daemon:24656): WARNING
**: Could not load desktop file '/etc/xdg/autostart/seahorse-daemon.desktop':
No such file or directory

If I type rpm -qa | grep seahorse I get:

I'm lost. This is beyond me. I'm used to this just working. Help?

2013-09-03 06:18:24 -0500 answered a question accidentally updated to latest kernel, is this going to cause me problems

You shouldn't worry that much, because kernel are usually stable enough and are updated regularly with small bug fixes and enhancements. At the next boot, Fedora will boot in the latest kernel. In the event it wouldn't work you can choose any of the latest 3 updated kernel at boot time.

Concerning the nvidia video driver, I don't know as I don't own nvidia card.

2013-09-02 15:36:06 -0500 answered a question Error message about session-manager at start of session

It seems you need to have gnome-session installed to have the error to disappear but I'm afraid it'll pull a lot of packages. Another solution would be to remove gnome-keyring but it could remove a lot of needed packages.

2013-09-02 01:42:00 -0500 commented question Cant start httpd- no acces to my localhost

the error message speaks for itself, your configuration is wrong at line 119. Open the file /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and correct it. As a general advice, upon each modification and before restarting apache, launch the command apache2ctl -t to validate the written configuration.

I'm under the impression the problem is not about the font problem but rather inability to have a X session.
