There are tvtime, xawtv, or mythtv. Keep in mind that the bigger challange will be to get the hardware working.

Don't know, this was the reason I was talking about splitting the file in an audio and a video part.

It seems that Pillow is missing. Please install it and try again.

$ sudo yum -y install python-pillow
2013-11-16 06:48:39 -0500 answered a question re-install fedora from second hard drive

I haven't done this for awhile. This method doesn't need a local installation media but a connection to the internet. Please be careful and consult other sources.

First you need the two files (vmlinuz and initrd.img) and put them in the directory /boot.

Possible source:

The next step is to modify the grub menu. The example below show the entry for a previous releases of grub not sure if it's still working:

title Installation Fedora 19
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz askmethod
initrd /initrd.img

After a reboot you should see a new entry in your grub menu.

2013-11-16 06:10:11 -0500 answered a question Disk space for Fedora

We are able to build the Fedora Security Lab Test Bench [1] on a 6 to 8 GB image for a while now. There is no GUI but a couple of services and tools. I think that your partition is big enough to store the operating system and that there is no need to increase the size of the partition after the installation.

I never checked but I assume that an installation with a default set of packages is more or less the size of a previous one. The need for disk space is not growing exponentially. Sure, Fedora is getting "bigger" but slowly. With every release there are around 1000 new packages [2] but the chances are high that not all those package do affect you.

Perhaps somebody else has some real numbers.

2013-11-15 16:24:10 -0500 answered a question why does Fedora make it harder ?!

Well, we don't make it harder than other distribution. Most of the major distributions don't ship proprietary codecs, firmware, drivers, and similar stuff for a good reason. Of course this can be an obstacle for the users but it seems that this obstacle is only a small one because nobody complains to the vendors.

In the past I did some very basic modifiactions (remove background noises) on audio files with audacity. Not sure if this will work with your file without splitting the audio part from the video file.

2013-05-01 07:06:13 -0500 asked a question Linux Container (lxc) setup

Is anybody able to setup a Linux Container on a current Fedora release?

For me, the include template fails on Rawhide because the package name of fedora-release is not detected. Anyway, when running the template directly with the right option, the rootfs is created.

[root@work04 fedora18]# cd /usr/share/lxc/templates/
[root@work04 templates]# ./lxc-fedora -R 18 -n fedora

Some warnings like the one below shows up (but it seems that the container creation is finishing):

warning: Failed to read auxiliary vector, /proc not mounted?

I ignore those warning and want to start the container with:

[root@work04 lxc]# lxc-start -n fedora

This doesn't work. Meaning that my gnome session get terminated and gdm present me the login dialog.
