2017-12-19 12:34:17 -0500 asked a question F27 and nvidia video card

I recently replaced my motherboard, CPU and RAM but retained my nvidia video card. I installed F27 on the new system, migrating user account/home from the old set up (also using F27). I went ahead and installed the rpmfusion nvidia rpms and ran into a number of problems: frequent lock ups, problematic boot problems, variable GUI performance. When I removed the rpmfusion packages, the system became very stable. Performance (in terms of FPS at least) seemed to be equivalent.

Are the nvidia drivers still recommended over nouveau for nvdia cards?

I have the exact same problem with a very similar scenario. I bought a new motherboard and CPU so decided to reinstall F27 from scratch after doing a back up of home and other important files. The also am using the nvidia drivers from rpmfusion. I have found that if I remove 'rhbg' by editing the grub boot string that I do get get the freezes. If the freeze happens, both the keyboard and mouse become inoperative with the OS so opening a terminal is not possible.

See for the answer. Node JS was downgraded to 4.x prior to the FC 24 release. I suppose the release notes were not updated to reflect that change.

The FC 24 Release Notes indicate that the version of nodejs is 5.10 (section 4.4.1 in release notes). When I installed nodejs I see that it is v. 4.4.6 instead. Are the notes in error? Or should I be looking in Rawhide or some other location for nodejs 5.10?
