2018-03-22 07:01:27 -0500 commented question dual audio out

I thought the exact same thing. It does transmit audio through a DVI to HDMI cable to my second monitor. I know it is working as I can test the audio "Front Left" "Front Right" and it plays through the second monitor. To be clear I have a DVI and HDMI output on my video card. I use HDMI to HDMI for monitor 1 and DVI to HDMI for monitor 2.

2018-02-19 07:36:59 -0500 commented answer How can I remove the bottom bar?

I apologize for not being clear. I do not know how to screen shot either for some reason. There is a bottom task bar that displays the windows that are open. I think the extension "Window List" is where it comes from but I have that turned off and it still persist. Any idea on how to remove all installed extensions?

2018-02-14 08:25:07 -0500 asked a question How can I remove the bottom bar?

I am using Gnome Shell and CairoDock which I like very much. I need to remove the bottom bar for the dock though since it is covering up most of it. Does anyone know of an extension or other way to do so?

2018-01-11 07:38:39 -0500 answered a question Fedora 27 freezing with Nvidia proprietary drivers

No need to try a different DE. I can confirm Gnome is working. I have installed Nvidia driver both ways with native driver and Negativo repository.

2017-12-28 13:00:10 -0500 answered a question F27 and nvidia video card

I believe the nouveau driver mostly works. I have never had much luck with the RPMFusion NVIDIA solution. There are a couple alternatives though. Head over to either of the links below. These have both worked for me. The only exception is some updates break the driver so you will be repeating this process. If you get stuck let me know.

https://negativo17.org/nvidia-driver/ - RPM based solution has worked on my machine.

https://www.if-not-true-then-false.co... - Uses the native driver from NVIDIA and installs fine.

2016-04-26 09:39:51 -0500 answered a question libidn.so.11 Cannot Be Found DNF Traceback Error

Okay this item is solved. Get the RPM file directly from fedora at the link: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/bu... . Download both the rpm libidn-1.32-1.fc23.i686.rpm and libidn-devel-1.32-1.fc23.i686.rpm. Enter Root rpm -ivh libidn-1.32-1.fc23.i686.rpm

rpm -ivh libidn-devel-1.32-1.fc23.i686.rpm

Reboot

Viola everything back to normal.

2016-04-25 07:30:07 -0500 asked a question libidn.so.11 Cannot Be Found DNF Traceback Error

Hello Fedora,

I am having a problem that all began after updating to Kernel 306 (about a week ago). At first I was having issues with Gnome "Something has gone wrong". Flash forward, remove Nvidia using nvidia-uninstall, revert to nouveau driver. Everything is a go - so I reblacklist nouveau and remove the xorg-x11-nouveau package but now I get hung up on the Fedora F logo. I can alt ctrl F4, login as root and when I try to dnf install xorg-x11-nouveau. I get the below error:

Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/dnf", line 56, in <module> from dnf.cli import main File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/dnf/__init__.py", line 31, in <module> import dnf.base File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/dnf/base.py", line 26, in <module> from dnf.comps import CompsQuery File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/dnf/comps.py", line 29, in <module> import dnf.util File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/dnf/util.py", line 31, in <module> import librepo File "/usr/lib64/python3.4/site-packages/librepo/__init__.py", line 1001, in <module> import librepo._librepo ImportError: libidn.so.11: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

So - I run locate libidn and find libidn.so.11 listed in /usr/var/* so it is there. I even thumbdrived the original libidn rpm and it will not install claiming the package is already there. Yum-depracated does not exist in this Fedora build, so any passing to yum only ends up back to a dnf command. Also, wget appears to need this library and reports that same "ImportError: libidn.so.11: Cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"....

Does anybody have any advice or additional things to try. I really want to recover this build. I have 6.5TB hard disk and my environment was just getting tweaked to my likening when all this went down.
