2016-12-14 14:02:25 -0500 asked a question Fedora 24 - Lost right-click on touchpad

Hi all,

Ran a DNF update on my fedora 24 and it seems I no longer have the option to right-click with my touchpad.

I have tried pretty much everything I could remenber but its gone. The only way I have to right click is using the 2 finger press on touchpad, that seems to work.

Any ideas on how to get this option back?

Im running Cinnamon.

Thanks in advance

How do I install dropbox from rpmfusion rather than the official Dropbox?

2016-07-11 00:53:40 -0500 answered a question Dropbox on Cinnamon

This works: Source https://www.dropboxforum.com/hc/en-us...

add QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE="" to dropboxd (in .dropbox-dist). You should add it above the last line.

Hi,

I prefer Cinnamon to Gnome. I would like to install the cinammon spin but then use the Gnome login manager which, IMO is quite good.

How can I do this?

Many thanks

Hi,

Thanks. Unfortunately it doesnt... I click on Dropbox and nothing happens.

My file was as yours:

cat ~/.config/autostart/dropbox.desktop

cat: /root/.config/autostart/dropbox.desktop: No such file or directory [root@Lenovo rgallego]# cat /usr/share/applications/dropbox.desktop [Desktop Entry] Name=Dropbox GenericName=File Synchronizer Comment=Sync your files across computers and to the web Exec=dropbox start -i Terminal=false Type=Application Icon=dropbox Categories=Network;FileTransfer; StartupNotify=false X-GNOME-Autostart-Delay=10

dropbox start Starting Dropbox...Dropbox isn't running! Done!

2016-07-08 00:06:34 -0500 answered a question Dropbox on Cinnamon

I needed the script because it looks this is a known issue with Cinnamon. IT was the only way yo get it to work with Fedora 23...

On Fedora 24 even running Dropbox with sudo doesnt work:

# dropbox start
Starting Dropbox...Dropbox isn't running!
Done!
2016-07-07 13:54:10 -0500 asked a question Dropbox on Cinnamon

Hi,

Im running Fedora 24 with Cinnamon and Dropbox just wont load.

I used to have a script on Fedora 23 that worked like a charm:

#!/bin/bash
# DropStart.sh
# Dropbox custom startup script to show the icon in the Panel
dropbox start -i
sleep 10;
dropbox stop
sleep 10;
dropbox start -i

I created a startup program with a delay of 6 seconds and it worked on Fedora 23.

For some reason, it just doesnt work on the new F24 with Cinnamon 3.0.6

If I switch back to Gnome, Dropbox works just fine.

Any ideas?

2016-03-19 16:08:19 -0500 answered a question Great Virtual machine software?

Virtualbox works fine on Linux. All to need to do is to add the kernel-devel and Kernel-headers After every kernel update you can recompile the drivers with a simple command, usually: /sbin/rcvboxdrv setup if you use the rpm from Virtualbox website.

Easy and clean

2016-03-19 09:37:43 -0500 asked a question Boot order on Grub

Hi,

My Grub has several kernel versions listed. For each version I have the kernel version+Debug option

Every time I update th Kernel, the Kernel+debug gets to boot by default.

I would like to change that and make the Kernel version (Workstation) option to boot by default. The reason is that Virtual box doesnt like the +debug option (I cant install the kernel drivers on this version)

How can I change this?

Many thanks in advance. L2

Got it!

Because I messed with SeLinux i had to reinstall fedora.

After reinstalling a fresh system, I imported my VPN config and then followed the SELinux troubleshooting lines in other. Voila, worked like a charm!

Next time, I will just follow SElinux suggestions... Previously I thought I only had to choose one of the suggested solutions SElinux presented me... apparently I needed them all.

Thanks all for the inputs here!

2016-03-18 02:37:25 -0500 commented answer There is a conflict between SELinux and openVPN connection!

thanks for this. Still doesnt work... just sits there trying to connect until it timesout. The same happens for L2TP. Its weird.

On my destination gateway, I can see that it tries to establish a sessiopn (actually a lot of them) the username shows as UNDEF Then it timesout.

I am adamant my gateway and config file are fine as they work first time on other operating system...

Many thanks

Im going nuts with this... can someone shed some light here? Are there any logs I can check to see hwere its failing?

2016-03-09 15:01:02 -0500 commented question Getting VPN to work, Openvpn or L2TP

Today I installed a fresh Virtual Machine with Linux Mint. Exactly same openVPN configuration file. It connected first time.

I dont understand why Fedora blocks this. I dont know where to look for logs etc.. Can someone guide me here?

Ahh, I have managed to disable SElinux confirmed with getenforce command after reboot, and made no difference.

Since it didnt make a difference I have enabled it again..

Thanks in advance.

It has to be SeLinux playing up...

Hi,

I have been trying to get the VPN connections to work on Gnome/Cinammon but, despite having the settings all configured I always get errors... Either timeouts our SELinux complaining that the service cannot start.

I have successfully configure my VPN access on my Windows and Macs but Fedora no joy. My ports on the firewall are fine as all other OS and devices work fine.

The access is to my own Synology box which has a VPN server.

I also have a TIgerVPN openVPN access that only works via the command line. Via the GUI it never works.

I have tried creating pretty much every variation, PPPT L2TP, OpenVPN and it doesnt work...

Can someone please help? Many thanks in advance!

2016-02-15 15:28:00 -0500 asked a question nautilus reports incorrect free space

Hi.

i have resized my home drive with LVM but nautilius still reports the previous amount of free space (15.5GB)

If I do lvdisplay I get:

--- Logical volume --- LV Path /dev/fedora_lenovo/home LV Name home VG Name fedora_lenovo LV UUID kjV0NK-y2og-K0xd-wNBO-xJZP-z9Dk-mz5kui LV Write Access read/write LV Creation host, time lenovo, 2016-02-14 15:46:21 +0000 LV Status available # open 1 LV Size 96.91 GiB Current LE 24808 Segments 2 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors auto - currently set to 256 Block device 253:2

Why is nautilus ignoring the new size?

Thanks in advance
