2016-01-23 10:29:44 -0500 asked a question dnf update missed up grub menu

recently i installed fedora and i had previously linux mint + windows installed ... i did a "dnf update" and after that i can't boot into linux mint but i still can boot into mint what may be the cause and how to fix it ? also i noticed an additional grub menu entry that appears to be a fedora with updated kernel .... may that be the cause ? EDIT : the error i get is this : "can't find command linux" and "can't find command initrd". i did try to boot from the uefi menu and it worked as i was presented with the linux mint grub menu

2016-01-21 08:55:52 -0500 answered a question Is there any tool to test your computer's compatibility with Fedora?

first i think that fedora can run on various types of hardware ... but if you want to get a real test on how will fedora run you can try the live cd / usb and see if everything is working OK.

you shouldn't disable uefi if windows is installed in uefi mode. i think you meant secure boot

i was trying to make 2 linux distros (fedora and linux mint) share the swap partition on the virtual hard drive. first i installed linux mint with a root and a swap partitions leaving some space for a later fedora install .. then i installed fedora trying to persuade it to accept the swap partition which is already there in the virtual hard drive but it didn't work. i tried selecting the partition during installation but all options on the right were greyed out.

i tried doing it in a virtual machine and it didn't work .... in anaconda i couldn't manage to tell him to use the swap partition which is already there
