2016-01-26 12:42:45 -0500 commented question dnf & https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org timeout

hi david, already tried clean all.

2016-01-26 11:43:24 -0500 asked a question dnf & https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org timeout

Hi,

I can't do anything with dnf as all mirrors are timing out, yet there is no problems with my connection.

This is upon performing a dnf update:

dnf.exceptions.RepoError: Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'fedora' from 'https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-23&arch=x86_64': Cannot prepare internal mirrorlist: Curl error (28): Timeout was reached for https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-23&arch=x86_64 [Connection timed out after 120001 milliseconds]
Jan 26 17:33:37 CRITICAL Error: Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'fedora' from 'https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-23&arch=x86_64': Cannot prepare internal mirrorlist: Curl error (28): Timeout was reached for https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-23&arch=x86_64 [Connection timed out after 120001 milliseconds]

Yet I can connect at a quick speed to mirrors.fedoraproject.org

curl -o /dev/null -s -w %{time_total}\\n https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org
0.575

My dnf.conf:

[main]
gpgcheck=1
installonly_limit=3
clean_requirements_on_remove=true
fastestmirror=true
skip_if_unavailable=True
2016-01-26 10:17:13 -0500 commented question restore repo

I found https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedo...

Which restored the repos, but now dnf is hanging, so trying to figure out why now.

2016-01-26 10:02:59 -0500 asked a question restore repo

Hi,

I had to use an internal company repository for a while, but now wish to restore to the standard fedora repos.

How can I restore these?

I tried installing fedora-release-workstation-23-1.noarch.rpm, but this no longer contains the repos from what I can see. I am currently missing fedora-upgrade and fedora-upgrade-testing

Thanks

If only it was as simple as that, its already set there, the issue is the audio is messed up.

2015-10-02 07:59:47 -0500 asked a question Line in / Microphone capture is messed up

Hi,

I am running Fedora 22 on a HP probook. The laptop has an external mic and speakers, and the audio output is working ok on both headset (line out) and the speakers. The problem is the audio line in from my headsets microphone.

It is badly distorted with a loud hum, and I hear the same audio repeating every one second in a loop .

You can hear the result here (warning, might be loud!)

https://clyp.it/tqq05gmv

I captured this with:

arecord -d 10 /tmp/test-mic.wav

The first thing I tried was reducing all the levels in alsamixer, but that has not had much effect. I then did the same using pavucontrol, but its still not any better.

Here is the weird thing. If I use arecord again, it captures the exact same audio sequence (it sounds indentical to the capture posted above on clyp.it, so its almost like the capture data is cached somewhere and being fed to the audio input?!
