2018-01-14 10:20:08 -0500 asked a question Suddenly no sound in Fedora 27

i had working sound in Fedora 27 and after some of the last updates it stopped working.

Starting amarok I receive this notification:

the audio playback device HDA Intel PCH (AL887-VD Analog) does not work

and these error messages:

$ amarok
AL lib: (WW) alc_initconfig: Failed to initialize backend "pulse"
AL lib: (EE) ALCplaybackAlsa_open: Could not open playback device 'default': Connection refused
AL lib: (WW) alcSetError: Error generated on device (nil), code 0xa005

How to debug? I tried a previous kernel with no success.

2016-08-12 11:09:19 -0500 answered a question How to keep installed debuginfo packages up to date with dnf

Alternatively to the --enablerepo option mentioned by @gjanssens it is possible to permanently enable and update in the /etc/dnf/plugins/debuginfo-install.conf file:

2015-06-14 17:08:19 -0500 asked a question Can't start the lxqt GUI

After much fiddling I managed to install the minimal Fedora 22 in a very old netbook with only 4GB SSD. After that I installed lxqt with dnf groupinstall lxqt.

The system does not boot to the GUI but to the text login prompt. When I try to start lxqt:

# startlxqt
QXcbConnection: Could not connect to display
Aborted (core dumped)

If I change the target to graphical it freezes where it should show the graphical login:

systemctl set-default

Then I need to manually change the run level to 3 at boot to get to the text prompt.

How to debug?

What worked for me was to install wpa_supplicant and NetworkManager-wifi

Good and I would upvote if I could. But I'm really after HTML

2015-03-24 08:14:55 -0500 asked a question Installable Fedora documentation

Is there a package to locally install the documentation in this link:?

I know how to do it with wget but a distribution package would be more convenient

wget \
--recursive \
--no-clobber \
--page-requisites \
--html-extension \
--convert-links \
--domains \
--no-parent \
