Graphical way to install non-app packages?

I was testing F24 recently, and I wanted to install VLC. I added the RPM Fusion repo.

I am of course aware of the command line:

dnf install vlc

However, I wanted to try to install it graphically. Using gnome-software, I tried so search for VLC or VideoLAN, but nothing came up! After that, I just ran dnf install vlc and that worked just fine. I also wanted to install other packages, like vim or htop, but those packages did not come up either.

Why on earth are all of the packages hidden in gnome-software? Why can't I use a graphical client to install arbitrary packages onto my system? Why force users to go to the command line?

Is there another graphical program that is capable of doing that?
