Thunderbird: How to remove an email account but keep entire folder structure for this account?

Hi,

I am using Thunderbird with a few email accounts of which one IMAP account has become invalid.

Now, I would like to keep all folders (inbox, sent, subfolders) as archives within Thunderbird since there is still important communication stored. What s*ks is that Thunderbird always wants to connect to the server of this account even if I unchecked the functions *Check for new messages at startup and Check for new messages every x minutes. Thunderbird tries to contact the server with my invalid credentials 5 times and each time that fails generates a Gnome notification.

So, I would want to keep all local folders but stop Thunderbird from contacting the server. (I tried to keep the server address empty but that doesn't work, or make port invalid which is bad too.) Any idea where to do that in an internal config file?

Thanks
