Alias tagged search

Hey guys!

When I use the tagged search, I search for questions with tags that I know a lot more about, like networking over virtual-box. However, it is really annoying when there are multiple versions of the same thing. For example,

fedora-20 tag vs fedora20 tag vs f20 tag vs #fedora-20 tag.

They are the same thing, but the search for f20 doesn't show results for fedora-20 and fedora20 etc. Is there a way to integrate an "alias" into the AskBot system so that tag search can be more useful.

BTW, I do know that on the Ask your question page, it says:

Use correct tags. See the list of tags for what tags you should use. It makes it easy for people to find your question. For example, please use "fedora19" instead of "f19","fedora-19" or "#19". Tags do not need to start with a #(hash)
.

However, I find so many people don't even read this when they ask their question. Can this "alias tagged search" be integrated into AskFedora or is this an upstream thing up at askbot.com?

Thanks, James.
