windows 8 vmware

I am in a Network operating system class and I have been given a disc for fedora 13 to install using VMware, the disc reads fine on other computers, but i got a new computer running windows 8 that the disc comes up as being corrupted, i've even tried to use a different disk still does not work. I figured it was a compatibility issue with windows 8 and fedora 13 but being that im installing in on vmware it should not be an issue. Can anyone help, or does anyone have a solution to this?
