installed fedora: cannot boot from harddrive

I used a USB live media to do an install of fedora 18 on an unused partition of my harddrive. I am trying to install next to windows 7. The install went through fine but after I rebooted I just get a message asking to select a proper boot media. In the bios I went to reset my boot option #1 and only my DVD drive is available in the menu and nothing else. Can anyone help me with this problem?

UPDATE: I decided to try to restore my windows system using the recovery disk. When I put the disk and start the computer I am prompted to boot from it. If I do by striking any key, I get the windows install/recover interface. However if I do nothing, it defaults to the grub booter and boots up Fedora! This is the only way I can get fedora to boot (by having the windows disk in the drive) and i can't boot up windows. As an aside, I am having problems with the computer sleeping in Fedora also.
