Fedora does not boot, only grub console is opened

My notebook runs win10 (uefi) on an ssd (sda) and features a second hdd (sdb) for data and a partition where fedora is installed (sdb2).

MBR and Windows boot loader are on sda.

If I try to boot Fedora from the boot device list, it does nothing except opening grub.

There I've to manually set root, kernel, initramfs to make boot work as in the docs (https://fedoraproject.org/w/index.php?title=GRUB2&oldid=522973#Encountering_the_dreaded_GRUB_2_boot_prompt).

Though reinstalling grub2 and rewriting the config, it still does not work.

How can I fix this?
