Hi all,

today I upgraded from Fedora24 to Fedora25 (xfce desktop). Till now everything is working fine except the problem with text in an application menu. The screenshot is :

image description

The application interface is based upon FOX Toolkit (C++ graphics library). It was working absolutely fine before upgrade to Fedora25.

The application was running perfectly fine with Fedora24. The system information is:

Intel Celeron-2957U (Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics)

$ glxinfo | grep -i vendor
server glx vendor string: SGI
client glx vendor string: Mesa Project and SGI
Vendor: Intel Open Source Technology Center (0x8086)
OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center

and

OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 3.1 Mesa 13.0.2

I will be very thankful for any helpful information to to get rid of this problem.

Best regards.

I have read that pango could cause this issue. Try to run dnf reinstall $(rpm -qa | grep pango | tr '\n' ' '). If that does not help, did you install and set a custom font which might have been deleted by the update?

Thanks @thomaswood for the comment. I re-installed pango as you suggested. I had no special/custom fonts other than the local font (which I have restored the local font directory from the backup). But the problem is still there. The software support says the problem is in OS upgrade because there was no issue before the upgrade. I find myself clueless :(

@Mubeen have you tried just changing the system font from the settings?
