Hi everyone. I have a Asus x52J Laptop (with Fedora 25) and my Headphones-Jack is broken. So I asked myself if it is possible to change the Inputjack to an Output. Is it possible to redirect the sound to the other Jack? I would like to learn more about working in Terminal, maybe there's a command.

Thank you.

Normally those are hardwired so there is no way to do via software. If you want to learn on the termina use alsa-mixer and check what you can do on audio devices, but keep in mind that output and input are hardware defined.

Try using hdajackretask (launch it from terminal), which is included in the alsa-tools package. Depending on your hardware you might be able to achieve that change.

I tested with my machine, a Gigabyte motherboard with a Realtek ALC898 onboard audio chip, and I could "retask" the rear Mic jack to headphone.
