How do I uninstall fedora 20? Back to windows 7?

asked 2016-12-29 22:54:47 -0500

Please help me... I don't know the admin password for the computer itself... I don't care for a back up or anything I don't have anything stored on there anyways. It is a Dell Optiplex 330 running fedora 20, I have a Microsoft Windows 7 that I want to put on here instead.

My guess is that it should be no problem starting the Windows 7 setup from DVD or USB and just tell it to use the whole hard drive. There is no need to uninstall Fedora 20, just overwrite the current content of your hard disk. (Unfortunately you haven't told us what your actual problem is. Why can't you install Windows 7 on your Dell computer? What is preventing it?)

If that does not work, boot a Linux live CD, for example the GParted live CD [1], and start the GParted application to delete all existing partitions on your hard drive. Afterwards Windows 7 should install straight forward.
