I have many troubles using my Asus PCE-AC68 wireless adapter on fedora 25.

Linux localhost.localdomain 4.8.15-300.fc25.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Dec 15 23:10:23 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

On fedora 22 (?) at the end I was able to use it.

I have followed insttruction here even if they are not updated, for example now I have downloaded the driver from and I have choosen Linux® STA 64-bit driver.

First problem: it didn't compile with messages like these:

/home/user1/Scaricati/hybrid_wl_f23/src/wl/sys/wl_cfg80211_hybrid.c:239:12: error: ‘IEEE80211_BAND_2GHZ’ undeclared here (not in a function)
  .band   = IEEE80211_BAND_2GHZ,  \

I have solved this looking at this change of the kernel:

and I have simply renamed IEEE with NL. It worked.

Then I have followed the instructions and the mod seems to be installed, in fact I was able to see the wireless adapter in the Network manager.

Then everything stopped to work. The system was so unstable that it was difficult to reboot the pc. The wireless never worked.

Suggestions? I have installed broadcom-wl- (note fc24, I have fc25), but nothing has changed.

use the broadcom-wl package from rpmfusion its the one that works best.

it uses the akmods tool to I assume rebuild the driver for every kernel.

Sometimes it will fail during kernel upgrade( have no idea why) but a remove/install of broadcom-wl usually fixes it

Finally it seems to work thank to this:

What was missing was:

akmods --force
modprobe wl
