updates-testing is a special repository used for testing packages. When a package is updated, the new software is held in updates-testing until either receiving karma or a manual push by the maintainer after a few days.

The 'Beta' version of the release media is entirely different from the 'beta' version of a package. You might find the same package versions on the Beta release image as on the Final release image, or perhaps not. In any case, you are expected to update your system!

It contains the last beta version of the standard packages that come with Fedora 18. Since F18 is now an official release, use this link instead.
