Hi all,
I done a fresh install of Fedora 16 on my laptop but when I reboot it says 'Operating System not found'. I'm pretty sure that is a uefi-gpt issue since I'm able to boot chainloading from an Archlinux cd (just now I'm writing from that laptop).

Here's some data:

laptop: DELL Inspiron 14Z (N411Z)
bios/fw: Phoenix SecureCore Tiano (A02 version from DELL)
hdtable: GPT
(if other informations are needed, tell me)

Previously I tryed with openSUSE (GRUB-legacy + msdos table) and it works (but gave me some issues with hardware, so I prefer Fedora...)

One stange thing: Anaconda forced me to set a 'bios_grub' partition of 1MB, is this behaviour normal on UEFI systems?

-- SOLUTION --------------------
The only way I found to solve this issue was reinstalling the system with the 'nogpt' option; even if the 'Phoenix SecureCore Tiano' bios have an UEFI layer, seems that it cannot boot GPT disks (maybe is hybrid or bugged)...

Your installation seems to be "messed up" It doesn't seem to be related to UEFI, besides, Did your laptop came with Windows 8? Windows 7 computers does not have any "UEFI technology"...

Boot from a Linux LiveCD and install Gparted, then open Gparted and see your partition table... ¿is it OK? wich partitions do you have and in what formats? I recommend you to Reinstall Fedora using one of the preset options (use entire disk, use free space... etc) And then see what happens.

The problem seem to be related to a bad partitioning method, I asume you tried the "manual partitioning" am I right? Use one of the presets of anaconda and everything should work fine.
