I have upgraded from fedora 24 to fedora 25. When I try to begin my machine, it shows me the list of all possible kernel loads including fedora 24 and 25. Naturally, fedora 25 show first and if I do not choose any other options it will be automatically chosen and it is here that I see just a blank dark page. I have shut down my machine by force and selected the second in the list, namely fedora 24 and everything goes normally. But this is really bothering. What is the problem and how I can solve it? Please help.

When the blank page appears, what happens when you press ESC; or, after waiting about two minutes, press CTRL-ALT-F3?

I saw your comment after I had already solved my problem. So, I am not sure what would have happened if I did what you have asked.

I have solved my problem. In fact, I have not pressed ESC, neither I have pressed CTRL-ALT-F3. So I do not know exactly what would have happened in my case? However, I have solved the problem.

I installed akmod-VirtualBox package using the command:

sudo dnf install akmod-VirtualBox kernel-devel

Then I removed akmod packages via the following command:

sudo dnf remove kmod-VirtualBox-*

Then I just restarted my system and everything is ok.

If removing the akmod packages had no effects you can rerun the above remove command after restarting your system. The restart may take a while.

I forgot to precise that all these jobs are done after choosing the fedora 24. Even in that case when I run the command:

lsb_release -a

I saw:

LSB Version: :core-4.1-amd64:core-4.1-noarch:cxx-4.1-amd64:cxx-4.1-noarch:desktop-4.1-amd64:desktop-4.1-noarch:languages-4.1-amd64:languages-4.1-noarch:printing-4.1-amd64:printing-4.1-noarch
Distributor ID: Fedora
Description: Fedora release 25 (Twenty Five)
Release: 25
Codename: TwentyFive

So, I was sure that my fedora was really upgraded to 25.
