Having issues w/ vino-server getting unable to init server, connection refused

i've been a centos user for a while, and just started using fedora for my home server. so far, good stuff!

long story short i'm trying to get gnome's vnc server up and running. i've added perm exceptions to the firewall for tcp and udp port 5900, but i still get active refusals. obviously that's because the server is not running! whenever i try to start the vino-server, i get a reply of "Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused." I've read the help for the command, but I didn't find it useful, and most of the google hits come back for ubuntu. I couldn't find a man page, so I figured I'd ask your guys.

I did see a post about this being indicative of vino-server being linked to a loopback device, but I haven't actually been able to find any configuration file to change that...

Any ideas?
