Hi. I've got F16 64bit with Gnome 3.2 installed on my laptop AsusM51. Every start Empathy IM client goes to crash of Gnome and I have to log out. Then I need to switch off internet connection because after logging in Gnome crash again. Internet connection can be switched on when I disable all accounts in Empathy.

Pls, do you have any idea how can I fix it?

Thx for answer.

You may want to try temporary (re)moving your Empathy settings to see if there is a bad setting causing the issue. Try using this command to move the settings folder for Empathy to /tmp

mv ~/.config/Empathy /tmp

Then, see if you still have issues with Empathy crashing gnome, if not, then add your accounts back one at a time and close/open Empathy until you either find the account causing the issue or until they are all added back in.

I've got the same problem. My jabber account is the one causing the problem. The crash occurs after the certificate acceptation window.

Is there any empathy log file I could use to find the problem?
