I'm running a fresh install of Fedora 16 with Enlightenment. I've used VirtualBox once since the reinstall, and it loaded just fine, but I don't know the program very well yet, so I had a hard time importing a previously created virtual disk, and I rage-quit.

Today I tried again, and before VirtualBox even started, I got a message saying "VirtualBox stopped running unexpectedly. There was no error message." Although it also says "An exit code of 1 was returned from VirtualBox."

When I try running it from the terminal, I also get, "VirtualBox: supR3HardenedVerifyFileInternal: Failed to open "/usr/lib64/virtualbox/components/VBoxXPCOMBase.xpt": No such file or directory (2)"

What is the version of VirtualBox you are running ?

Follow the below RPMFusion Bugzilla link to the issue you are facing -

Its majorly a packaging issue of VirtualBox from RPMFusion side. Just go through the whole link and you can set the VirtualBox repo and try reinstalling VirtualBox or updating it.

I am sure that if you follow the new repo and install VirtualBox this problem should be gone.

It should not be happening, can you try to remove virtualbox completely from your system and do a fresh install from the repos. If possible disable RPMFusion repo while doing the fresh installation
