afaik KMS is required for it which is supported since version 364.12 of the nvidia driver.

Also is it possible to set which screen the boot logo appears on?

Info:

  • running nvidia 370.28
  • gnome 3.20.2
  • booting in UEFI mode

That article is BS. Mesa has many opensource drivers to handle OpenGL in hardware!!! OpenGL 4.5 for latest mesa and newer Intel hardware.
