It was claimed that with Firefox 49 Widevine would make it possible to watch Netflix on Linux.

I have checked that I have allowed to play DRM content and that the Widevine plugin is installed and active. Still I am being asked to install Silverlight.

Anyone know if it actually works?

Use an addon called user-agent switcher and set to Chrome on Windows. That works for other distros besides Fedora and not on Fedora though. Maybe its an SELinux issue, since it gives me an SELinux warning.

EDIT: I just restarted my computer(I usually don't and never thought of it) and it works now.

I'm still having this fail (without user-agent switcher - which should not be necessary) in Fedora 23.

Following this advice to download the browser from instead of using the Fedora rpm works, however.

Anyone know what the underlying difference is between the firefox-built version and the fedora-built one?
