How can I get Fedora24 to work with a hybrid laptop?

asked 2016-09-24 12:20:20 -0500

I would like Fedora to switch automatically to tablet mode when I swing the screen back past 180 degrees. I would also like the keyboard to disable when that happens.

Telling wich convertible (brand/type) you got, would help us to help you. I got a Fujitsu Stylistic Q702 and as soon as i undock it, the onscreen keyboard will show up if i wanna type smth. It mostly works out of the box.

My TP200SA works quite well out of the box too. However, the on-screen keyboard only shows for some programs. I'm not sure how to get the on-screen keyboard back after dismissing it. I haven't got scrolling, etc working. Any links would be great.

It's been some time since i set it up. I always have a little keyboard-icon sitting on the gnome title bar. I think im using a gnome-extension like On Screen Keyboard Button. For two finger scrolling within Firefox i installed an extension too, smth like Touch Enabler, but i'm not shure if its the exact one. Sry for my rather unprecise tips, i'm not @home at the moment,...

I found this website that might be of help http://www.linuxinsider.com/story/815... the bottom line is that its possible but you must expect all kinds of bugs and errors its recommender to stick with the original OS since its built to function with the laptops motion I hope this was helpful :)
