Any work being done by Fedora to fix start-up message "[drm:ironlake_crtc_compute_clock [i915]] *ERROR* Couldn't find PLL settings for mode!" followed by blank screen?
Hi, there are a few messages about this problem which has been noted since kernel 4.7.1 was added to updates. i was using Fc23 and hoped that the problem would be fixed by upgrading to Fc24. This did not help. Apparently the problem is restricted to only a few laptops. Mine is a Samsung NX900X4C and uses the Intel 4000 graphics driver. It is one of the affected laptops. A patch has been proposed on https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/ser... and on https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/pat... but it looks like it is still being modified or tested. Are there any plans to upgrade the fedora kernels to overcome this problem, which results in a blank screen most of the time? Is it possible for me to download the fedora kernel source and try patching the present fedora kernel ( currently: 4.7.3-200.fc24.x86_64 ? With thanks, Couran.
