Problems installing driver for Broadcom BCM43142 on fedora 24/25
Hello, I'm brand new in the world of Linux however I'm quite patient and willing to learn. I recently installed fedora 24 on my acer Aspire laptop. Everything seems to work perfect so far except of my wifi adapter a Broadcom BCM43142.
I read a lot of fedora and tried a lot of the proposed solutions but every time I get some trouble at some point. The most promising solution to which I ended up to is the installation of ndiswrapper.
For that reason I download the file ndiswrapper_1.60-1.fc24.src.rpm but when trying to install it I get the following message:
Detailed errors from the package manager follow:
Could not depsolve transaction; 1 problem detected: 0. nothing provides ndiswrapper-kmod >= 1.60 needed by ndiswrapper-1.60-1.fc24.x86_64
I am trying to download this "ndiswrapper-kmod" but nothing seems to work so far.
My kernel version is the 4.5.5-300.fc24.x8664. Updating to 4.7.3-200.fc24.x8664 delivers the same result.
Is there anyone else with the same problem? Are there any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Yannis
