A few questions before installing

Hello! i'm super new to fedora. I'm an ubuntu user for almost 5years and i would like to try something new. I choose ubuntu because it was easy to use at the beginning and i knew nothing about linux or opensource at the time.

I installed ubuntu on a 8GB pendrive. It boots on any machine supporting USB Booting. I would like the same on fedora. This is super important because i have a shared computer used by the whole family.

Yes. You can install to a pendrive.

How much space does it takes to intall fedora? I only have a 8GB pendrive available at the moment and i can't upgrade yet.

It really depends on the packages that you install. 8Gigs should be enough.

Does 3G Usb modems works? In ubuntu, i just plug the device, wait a few minutes and it works. Is this possible using fedora?

Yes. Network Manager has support for this :)

Sometimes, i need japanese input. I use anthy. Is it available in fedora?

Haven't used it, but it is available in fedora: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/acls/bugs/anthy

My hardware is 1gb ram, 1.6ghz atom processor. Is enought to run fedora on a daily basis?

Yes. I use Fedora on my EEEpc without any issues.

Is it posible to use lampp (xampp from apache friends) on fedora?

Yes. I've found plenty of links on google about Xampp on Fedora. Please do look it up yourself though.

Is there some feature to use the border of the touchpad on a netbook to use the scroll (like a mouse)?

Not sure. I don't use it. Maybe someone else can tell you.

Yes there is some feature to use the borders of your touchpad for scrolling. Simply go to "System Settings" -> "Mouse and Touchpad" choose the tab titled with "Touchpad" and under "Scrolling" select "Edge". (By the way if you have never tried before give "Two-finger scrolling" a try, i found it much easier to work than scrolling with the borders of the touchpad).

Using Xampp is probably a bad idea, when you already have all components available in the repository (apache, php, mysql, ...)

Get a new computer.
