Kernel updated to 4.7.2 - Blackscreen at startup

I've performed a fresh install of Fedora 24. Then install Yum Extender to manage packages, and install RPM fusion free & non-free/ I run Yum Extender to perform a update of packages.

First error message (sorry in french):

Erreurs dans la transaction de constructionupdate : libpskc-2.6.1-2.fc24.x86_64 update : libbytesize-0.7-1.fc24.x86_64 update : kyotocabinet-libs-1.2.76-11.fc24.x86_64 update : nss-pem-1.0.2-2.fc24.x86_64 update : xmlsec1-1.2.20-3.fc24.x86_64 update : edk2-ovmf-20160418gita8c39ba-4.fc24.noarch update : gdouros-symbola-fonts-8.00-5.fc24.noarch update : libblockdev-fs-1.6-1.fc24.x86_64 update : http-parser-2.7.1-2.fc24.x86_64 update : systemd-container-229-13.fc24.x86_64 update : system-python-3.5.1-13.fc24.x86_64 update : libblockdev-part-1.6-1.fc24.x86_64 update : libmicrohttpd-0.9.46-2.fc24.x86_64

Ok I deselect update of all these packages. Update is performed without error message. Nice! Then reboot my PC; at startup I have the choice to boot Linux with 2 kernel

  • Kernel updated
  • Kernel from the original installation 4.5.5-300

I select the kernel updated (4.7.2), but after few seconds, I only have a black screen, with no vga signal (my screen led turned from blue to orange). With kernel 4.5.5, Linux boots as usual.

What's going wrong? (PC equipped with GTX970)

please note I've started Linux for 1 month, I'm currently trying several distributions - accessible language dedicated to a newbie will be appreciated :)

Are you using the open-source nouveau driver that's included or did you install the proprietary NVidia driver from somewhere?
