First of all, there are two things you forgot to mention in your question.

  1. The operating system for which you want to create a bootable USB.
  2. The operating system from which you intended to create a bootable USB.

Since you asked your question here, I am assuming that you want to create the bootable USB for Fedora. For the second point, the OS support, it will vary for each application I am going to mention here. As @davidva commented, Google is your best friend.

If you want to create and make live usb disk given https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator/">this link will help you a lot.

You will need to change the boot device priority before booting from usb disk.

I presume that you're planning to do the work in Fedora. All you need to do is install liveusb-creator and run it. When it asks you to browse for the LiveCD image, just point it at the .iso you plan to use and let it go.
