Pulse depends on alsa. Unfortunately, in my log:

pulseaudio[3798]: module.c: Failed to load module "module-alsa-card" (argument: "deviceid="0" name="pci-00000014.2" cardname="alsacard.pci-00000014.2" tsched=yes ignoredB=no card_properties="module-udev-detect.discovered=1""): initialization failed.

Any idea what's up? PCI 00:14.2 seems right. See below.

I am able to get GPL OSS 4.1 to work fine (compiled from source). This is not optimal solution for me.

Can you give us some more info? Like which version of Fedora you're using? You might want to update your computer as it might be a bug that might have already been resolved on the software package causing the problem.

In the meantime can you kill pulseaudio and start it again and tell me what happens?

# pulseaudio --kill
# pulseaudio --start
