Hello everyone,

I have just installed Fedora 24 in my laptop (Dell Vostro 5480) yesterday and I am a newbie.

There is a problem with my install: When I shutdown my computer, after the Fedora splash screen, this message appears:

Kernel not configured for semaphores (System V IPC). Not using udev synchronisation code.
Powering off.
[ 2823.9533483] reboot: Power down

And the screen hang in there but any other devices like mouse or keyboard had turned off their lights. I only hear the sound of the chipset fan (I quite sure that there is no sound of the HDD). I tried some command like

sudo shutdown -h now

but they are not work either.

Could somebody help me please. I have to press the power button many times now and I really worried about my computer.

Yes, I can. I have just updated fedora so there is 2 kernels now and there is also a recover mode like yours. I have Windows Boot Manager too.

Also, I realized that I still able to restart my computer. And f I just turn my laptop on for 1 or 2 minutes and not login to my account, sometimes (not all the times) the laptop actually shutdown right.

Here is the log: Log

mmm, bad bad, "Connection to xwayland lost" maybe a problem with your video card and wayland. I recomend you install a Spin as Xfce or Cinnamon...
