Is it okay to upgrade to f24 through proxy setup in dnf.conf?

The manual page at says that "Double check your DNF configuration in /etc/dnf/dnf.conf, if you have done any custom configuration (either manually or via third-party tool), it's recommended to revert it to default before updating and upgrading your system."

But I am using internet through a proxy and changed dnf.conf to "proxy=".

I think this advice does not apply for proxy configuration. This is rather for packages that are manually held back or pinned.

I did an dnf upgrade to fedora 24 with proxy-settings in dnf.conf. No problems occured.
