virtualbox 5 fail on fedora 24, empty file /etc/profile.d/

I solved the proximate problem (VB would not install) myself but the bug looks to be in Fedora (or I did my install incorrectly)

I had to comment line 69 in this file; (i typed that wrong earlier as line 64)


for this part of the virtualbox setup to work properly

/usr/lib/virtualbox/ setup

what belongs in that commented file (IOW how to properly populate it?) it's empty on my system


I don't know if this next program's failure is because that file's empty or the file's empty because this program's failing (running as root)

That file shouldn't be empty. What is the output of the following commands?

I discovered my mistake - there seems to have been a point where I moved files from that folder.

I must have made a typing error or I was doing the right thing but mistakenly in the wrong directory

I'll mark this as closed, thanks for reading
