Install Fedora 24 beta or wait for stable release

This weekend I have a chance to help a friend put Fedora on his computer. I see that the official release date for F24 is next week and was wondering how involved the update from the beta release will be. Are there many serious changes between the beta and the stable? Will it be less painful if we just wait until the weekend after? (He has an nvidia card I'm expecting to cause us some hassle....)

Wait for the final release, if you want rpmfusion; if not unitedrpms

Well, been running on Fedora 24 since Fedora Alpha release, no issue so far. You can upgrade using the DNF system-upgrade process details here

Now you mention Nvidia if you install the manufacture kernel module for Nvidia it could be an issue as Fedora 24 will release a new version of the kernel so you better make sure you can install same version of the kernel module to the new kernel, If you are using nouveau nvidia generic driver it should be ok to upgrade.

So make a backup and verify what you have to do. Good Luck.

No big change between beta and final release. You can easily update to the final version with a simple update. Go ahead and help your friend to install Fedora in his computer. There are few things that you should keep in mind Upgrade from pre-release to final
