I have install oracle-xe-11.2.0-1.0.x86_64.rpm on Fedora 17-64-bit, I was wondering why it is very slow, for example when i want to connect to it using "Oracle SQL Developer" or JDBC in my web application.

Are there any configuration for Fedora or Oracle Express 11 to improve my performance?

I mention that my machine specification is good (8GB RAM , Core i5 CPU).

I don't think that Fedora is a certified/supported platform but, anyway, there's a tuning guide provided by Oracle that gives some directions on how to tune RHEL to run Oracle (best Huge Pages settings and so on). You might want to give a look at that but be careful because even if Fedora and RHEL are close enough, RHEL6 (the latest) and Fedora 17 are quite far away from each other.
