Greetings all:

I'm running Fedora 23 on HP DC7800 MiniTower Only snag is that WITH the PCI card, there is no sound device/no sound Without it, everything works, but video rendering is soooooo slooooow / stutters, shudders, etc.

I have the idea that when running without PCI that the proper info is stored/enumerated in some config file somwhere. Is there a way to copy that, install the PCI card, and then edit the config to find the device I want?

Thanks for any help on this.

So, what VGA card/chipset are you having there? That information would be quite useful in order to help you...

When you install the PCI card, there is no sound device or no sound? Check in the sound control panel that the audio is not defaulting to the HDMI audio output. If so, then switch it back to the internal audio.
