Fedora23 won't boot after update

I just updated my computer for the first time in about 3 months. After updating, I restarted the computer and it never reaches the login screen. It just goes black. I have booted into recovery mode and looked at journalctl but I don't know what I am looking for. I googled a few of the errors and warnings I found in journalctl but it just brings up old bug reports that say the problems have been resolved.

So I don't know what to do next. What is a good resource to learn how to debug this stuff?

Can you boot older kernels? (When you boot manager grub appears, there is usually a list of 3 kernels you can select from).

What's your graphics adapter?

None of the kernels boot. Just the recovery one does. Not sure on graphics adapter. It's an Asus Zenbook.

Edit: Graphic Adapter: Intel HD Graphics 5300

When your in recovery mode, will it allow you to remove the latest kernel and its updated packages and roll back to last config that worked?

I tried rolling back changes using dnf history undo 20 but I get an error Error: Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'updates'. I think that is because I have no network connection. Tried following these instructions [1] to get on the internet but it timesout when trying to create a new connection.

Alright, guess I will just reinstall. I have had this problem before and would really like to learn how to debug these problems or prevent it from happening in the first place.
