In order to obtain information on what is blocking, you should put an eye on the file : /var/log/messages.

During the shutdown, pressing "Escape" should display information on the monitor, and so what operation is taking so long. We cannot help without those information.

hi, in my case it shows the following message:

a stop order is running for LVM PV HvUTIS-0z0U-SoGH-Yhtn-2kxl-mhiT-c9fl1h on /dev/dm- the process have 8 steps and it counts from 1 to 8 showing the same message, until finally shut dowm, but it may take up to 2 minutes doing that.
