Hi, I'm trying to make a dual boot with win8.1 and fedora23. I made a partition of my disk and left unallocated but when the installation destination is to be selected the only option shown is the usb drive I'm booting from. When I open disks to look it up the content of the disk "Intel Rapid Storage Technology enterprise RAID Member (version 1.3.00)" and it is shown as one volume with no partitions visible. How could I make the disk/partition visible during installition?

Your system is set up for Intel Rapid Start, ref https://software.intel.com/en-us/arti... . It's a special kind of firmware raid that usually combines an SSD with spinning storage, and Linux distributions are generally not compatible with it. Turn the feature off in your BIOS/firmware to continue installation, but be aware that doing so will probably destroy any existing data stored on the system.

With out more detail is hard to troubleshoot this issue. From the info you have provided it sounds like you may have created some type of RAID when you installed the windows OS and Fedora may not be able to read that RAID configuration. If you answer the questions below I may be able help a little more.

Are you using an RAID card if yes what RAID level is setup?

What type of motherboard are you using?

Can you provide a screenshot of your install screen?
