Reading some docs(and news) i found this new intersting thing:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/DNF

This will be(as it seems) the new Fedora Package manager, forked from yum and having a more polite way to check dependencies.

But my question is. DNF will be "backported" to Fedora 16 and 17??

Cheers

It will not be backported most likely. New features are not usually backported.

It won't be backported to an End Of Life release.

To clarify: nothing is back ported to an unsupported release.

Hi, the plan is not to backport DNF to F16 or F17. The versions in supported Fedoras will be receiving bugfixes for severe bugs, even if those need to be backported of course.
