Hi,

I've just installed Fedora 17 on a Powermac G5. Firefox worked until after I updated the software. Now when I go to run it, there is a message saying starting Firefox at the bottom of the screen and the spinning wheel cursor indicating something's happening, however, it just stops and goes away without ever starting Firefox. Any ideas?

Fedora 17 is EOL and no longer supported. Please consider updating to Fedora 19 and see if the issue persists.

firefox doesn't really handle getting upgraded while it's running. It's better to use "Offline Updates" for this reason and others.

from a terminal try running

pkill -f firefox

or just reboot.
