I totally deleted the firewalld and firewall config files, disabled SEL, deleted all IP Filters but still cannot get Deluge (or any other bittorrent client) to work. So if it is not the firewall, not SEL and not the router/ISP (works fine on my wife's laptop, tablet and a live Ubuntu disc on this computer) then what? The bittorrent clients all say they are downloading but does not connect to any peers.

I first used an upgraded F17 then did a fresh install, twice, using two different media from two different downloads (DVD & Live) but still had this problem. Odds are it is not a bad install.

Since you mentioned firewalld, I'm assuming you are working with Fedora 18. Can you elaborate on how you disabled it? Deleting the configuration files doesn't sound appropriate, you should be able to systemctl disable firewalld && systemctl enable iptables if that's more familiar to you. Also, you should turn SELinux back on now that you know it isn't the culprit.

I don't like the sound of this 'deleting' at all. You should turn services off when you aren't using them, or remove them through the package manager. Please issue su -c 'yum reinstall firewalld' - and whatever else you need to do to restore your system to a predictable, supportable state.

I didn't disable firewalld but deleted it and the config file since disabling it didn't seem to work. I have no firewall installed at present and am relying on my router. I have already re-enabled SELinux since it was not the black hat in this scenario. Still no closer to a fix though.
