I've recently bought an Asus G75VW and it has unfortunately Windows 8 installed. Made a Fedora 18 installation using DVD/Iso version. Everything goes fine in shell till I get :

dracut-initqueue[389]: Warning: Could not boot dracut-initqueue[389]: Warning: /dev/root does not exist

Can someone suggest me any solutions?

I had the same issue, try using CyberLink Power2Go. Burn onto a disk. Turn off legacy boot.

Winkey+C; Change PC Settings; Update and Recovery; Recovery; Advanced Startup> Restart Now; USB devices; Click on the dvd; Install fedora!; After install, windows will not boot, so got to fedora. GRUB2 doesn't know where Win8 bootloader is. After login, Open terminal. login to root edit /etc/grub.d/40_custom

add this::

menuentry 'Microsoft Windows 8.1' {
           set root='hd0,gptX'
           chainloader /EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi

Replace X with the sda number of partition /boot/efi save and type update-grub

Restart and boot into windows and fedora!!
