What do you mean with hangs? Is it completely frozen or just unresponsive or slow? If you are hibernating and have a spinning HDD this could cause slow wake up from sleep state.

I have a thinkpad 11e on Fedora 23 and it freezes completely after closing lid for around an hour. No hibernate or suspend options are offered in the power, dconf or gnome tweak menus. Esc or any button don't anything, and the only -savage- option is to force shut down. This is a solid state machine and what I have done is to keep the settings to fully on when closed for up to 2 hours, but it has a prolific fan, and by then the battery is gone. I did find a blog that offers a large list of incantations in Linux commands to rearrange the RAM settings to fix this problem, but I don't dare.
