hello, there!

after a lot of trouble due to hp's new bios an the uefi settings, i managed to install fedora 23 on hp probook 440 g3. there are, however, some bugs i don't seem to get rid of:

  1. sound not working (tried this but it makes my boot hang, i would try this but i am affraid i will mess my modules)
    1. when systems blacks out screen the only way to get back a login screen is to press the power button to make the lights go off on the panel leds, then press it again to wake up

can anyone help?

When referring to the solution that you already tried, what exactly did you do?

Forget about the script that you are linking (Link2) - this is written for Ubuntu/Debian based systems. Won't work on a Fedora Linux.

what soundcard chipset do you have? Show us the output of lscpi | grep Audio or run the the alsa info script that bombs you with many information about your sound setup: --no-upload

alsa info here: lspci shows 00:1f.3 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio (rev 21)
