in F23 in successfully created a connection to a ipsec server. 2 Days ago it somehow stopped working (i set the tick at IPv4 "Use this connection only for resources on this network"). And after that i only get a notification "Connection failed. Activation of Network connection failed." Now i don't now where to look else. In systemctl log there is no mention of any try to the connection. ( didn't help - i think this only works for OpenVPN). Anyone knows how to debug and see, where it fails?

to answer the question myself.. ;-) Debugging of a network-manager connection is possible with the following command to turn debugging on: sudo dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.SetLogging string:"debug" string:""

and this command to turn it off (setLogging to "info") again: sudo dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.SetLogging string:"info" string:""

However, that helped not in solving the pptp vpn connection to work again, BUT: nm-connection-editor

did. There under IPv4 Settings i changed the "Method" from "automatic (VPN) addresses only" to "automatic (VPN)" and it worked again.

However it is not connecting everytime and failing 1 out of 10. And i didn't manage to get DNS Resolution to work, when theres "Only Ressources from that network" activated. But anyway..
